Yes, I love those vintage bicycle posters! Nice tip, bdw. (For riding, I prefer a modern bike with many gears etc.)
PS: here is another page featuring vintage bicycle posters: www.theposterfinder.com

If you are looking for a short flat off road path then a very short path is at the top of peachfield Common, by the wells road. Its very short, but is flat and quite quiet.

If u want something slightly more off road, longer and you dont mind going up and down a bit then the ridge that runs between the whyche cutting and blackmore car park on jubille drive is quite quiet. Also there are some great views.

I'll make a map and put it here,http://malvernredriders.wordpress.com/map-page/

Sorry that I haven't replied sooner, but I was struggling to think of a helpful answer.

There's one pretty flat path on the Hills more or less next to Jubilee Drive, but this is one of the few which is supposedly no-go for cyclists (but actually the only one where I've seen a real family cycling group). It's fairly narrow for much of the length so I can see why walkers have right of way.

And we are likely to have one to two proper off-road cycle paths locally, such as a Sustrans route to Worcester, in a few years. Not much use right now though!

I do have a few fairly easy, fairly flat, on-road routes from 12 to 18 miles mapped out (and ridden by one group or another) which might be suitable, depending on the age of the children.

The 'Sir Edward Elgar Bicycle Challenge' starts at 10.30, going until 3pm (unless they run out of entrants I guess). Fastest time last year was 17 seconds, but it might have been slightly shorter than your try-out. That sounds a bit too serious to me - can be taken as a bit of fun too.

Categories, under 10, 10 to 12, 13-16. 17-39, 40-59 and 60+ (and I'd also guess male/female).

We would like to take our children on bike rides around Malvern area that is fairly flat eg dismantled railway would be suitable. The OS Map details the dismantled railway from Malvern Wells to Upton but there appears to be no public use of it. Do you have any ideas where might be suitable. At the moment we resort to heading to the Forest of Dean - great shame. There must be some places near by!
Many thanks

i do not think we do enough to encourage cycling, roads are more dangerous and not safe for cyclists other countries hundreds of people cycle and leave thier bikes and they are quite safe is not time we caught up and start thinking more bike make the roads more cycle friendly.

Jon - you'll have seen the same email as me today - hill climb confirmed for 25th May. I have no info on VC Sevale - I don't do racing - but links for their website and other rides are on MalvernTrail: http://www.malverntrail.co.uk/bikevent.htm
