Ok, this blog is meant to be about cycling issues but I think promoting other low impact ways of getting around is relevant too.
A recent letter in the Malvern Gazette highlighted problems of walking from Wellington Heath just a short distance to the town of Ledbury (which has a sister paper to the Gazette). While I’d go for the muddy path across fields myself, I can see that this isn’t suitable for a lot of people. I can’t see a new walking path having a cycle facility included as there isn’t likely to be space, but reducing the need for car use always helps.
There’s also a national campaign, from Natural England and British Heart Foundation, to increase walking for health. Locally, there are regular Soulmates short walks. See. MalvernTrail’s walking Malvern page for more.
